Give justice to the weak and the fatherless;
maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.
Rescue the weak and the needy;
deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” (Psalm 82:3-4)
Let’s be honest, the church has not always lived up to her profession of faith. Throughout our history, including the period of the prophets and the apostles, the people of God have had to learn what it means that God “desires mercy, not sacrifice.” And we are still learning. But there is no better equipped people to demonstrate the mercy and justice of God than Christians who have been recipients of the grace of Christ Jesus. We are called to “rescue the weak and needy” because we ourselves HAVE BEEN “[delivered] from the hand of the wicked.”

New City Fellowship offered a Faith & Finances course in the Fall of 2015 as a way to equip vulnerable individuals and families in our community with a biblical vision for how the comprehensive healing of Jesus encompasses finances.
The course trains and guides participants through the following:
- Learning basic, technical financial management skills;
- Building awareness of financial practices and systems and how to overcome real world pitfalls on the path to financial health; and
- Encouraging one another with the knowledge that we are known and loved by God, and that He can provide peace, healing, and freedom in a relationship with Him through Christ, with others, with ourselves, and with our money.
We will offer another class again in the future!
